I love writing letters. There I said it. Some may call me old fashioned, some may call be sentimental, some may just find it stupid, but I firmly believe in maintaining the art and practice of letter writing despite living in a technology driven time. There is something so much more intimate and special about taking the time to write out a letter to someone, actually taking time out of your day to sit down and create something for someone else.
Also I don’t know about you, but I love receiving letters. It always makes me feel, as cheesy as it sounds, extra loved and special because it means that someone actually had to make a conscious effort to write out something to me; as opposed to sending a quick text message. It really is an art form being able to beautifully string together a message to someone letting them know that they are important to you, even if it is something as simply as sending a letter in a birthday card. I think especially living in a day and age where our reliance on technology is so prevalent, and we seem to only communicate in short instant bursts like texting, it is even more important to preserve the art of letter writing and communication.
If you are like me and already enjoy writing letters then you go girl or dude (doesn’t matter to me), and if not or maybe you just haven’t written one in years I encourage you to sit down and try and write a letter to someone important to you.
