For those of you who are new to the blog and my site in general and don’t know, I am a women’s freedom and lifestyle coach, who helps women up level their mindset and confidence so that they can show up in and design the lifestyle of their dreams. But one thing you may not know though is why I got into coaching, in other words why I became a coach in the first place. The story is actually something that is the culmination of years of ups and downs and some serious life challenges, but I am so happy with where the journey has brought me.
To start the story you really need to know a little bit of my backstory, specifically the part of my story that I don’t really talk about very much, and that is my history with chronic illness. I have been chronically ill since I was 14 years old, so over 10 years now, but the big problem came after I graduated college, when I became too sick to work anymore. Getting even sicker was not a part of the post college plan to say the least. I had all these plans for what my life would look like, and all the things I wanted to and was going to do, but little did I know that was going to change very quickly. You see when I began getting even sicker I began to think of ways to work from home, and things that I could do to support myself, but many of the online jobs just didn’t align with who I am and the impact I wanted to have in the world. I wanted to do something that matter, maybe I was still young and idealistic, but it’s the truth. I wanted to do something that gave back to people and the world.
So what did I do you may be thinking because I didn’t just decide on coaching, in fact I actually decided to start a blog to share my knowledge with other women around the world. I wanted to create a platform where I could share my knowledge, tips, tricks, and tidbits with others. But while learning more and more about blogging and the online entrepreneurial world I stumbled, and I mean stumbled upon online coaching, and was immediately hooked. I was immediately intrigued by this community where everyone was trying to help other people, after all that is what I wanted to do. I wanted to have a greater impact, and help other women. At this point I had been blogging for a little while, and decided that I was being drawn to coaching for a reason. After all I am a huge believer in the idea that if you are being drawn to something then there has to be a reason, you are meant to be doing that. So what did I do well I got certified as a coach, and started learning and absorbing anything and everything that I could. I wanted to learn as much as possible, interact with other coaches, and help as many people as possible.
You see I know first hand from my experience what it is like to wake up in the morning wondering if this is it. Wondering if there is more to life out there. Wondering if I will ever get to dream or have a real life. I remember the struggles that my illness pushed upon me, and the things I felt it took from me, and I have fought hard to take back my life and my purpose. I remember those mornings and moments intimately, and I never want another women to feel the way I felt ever again. So when people ask me why I became a coach the answer truly is to change the lives of women around me, and to impact women around the world. I truly hope that my story resonates with you, and shows you that you too deserve the life of your dreams. You are more than capable of living a life that lights you up, and you are more than deserving of that kind of life, you just need to start somewhere.
