Have you figured out your life’s purpose yet? Whew is that a loaded question. I don’t know about you, but I have found that there seems to be an epidemic of people asking each other this question, and expecting some profound answer. Maybe it is because I am in my mid to late 20s, and everyone expects me to have all of my life figured out, but I genuinely don’t understand why people expect other people to have it all figured out. So I wanted to share with you today five things that I recommend you do if you are feeling overwhelmed with this desire to figure it out or determine what you are supposed to do with your life. Because believe me I get it, it’s hard. It’s hard when you don’t know what direction to go in, or what you want out of life.
Struggling to find out what your passions are, and what your purpose is in life? Then I highly encourage you test out some hobbies. The only way to figure out what you care about, and what matters to you is to test it out. So go out there and try something new.
If you have been around here a time or two then you know I probably talk about journaling in every blog post, but trust me there is a reason. If you aren’t sure of what your purpose is or where you are supposed to be going then I encourage you to journal on it. Write out everything that you are feeling, and explore those feelings.
Not unlike journaling, meditating and reflecting on how you are feeling, what matters to you, what you care about, and the like can be hugely impactful when trying to determine just what direction and purpose you are supposed to go after in life. Taking some time alone to sit with yourself, and really get to know yourself can do wonders.
This tip is definitely similar to trying out new hobbies, but that is to explore. Try new things, meet new people, explore until your little self can’t explore any more. Exploring new things, not only opens you up to new possibilities, but shows you what things really matter to you, and can help you determine your purpose.
Now this one may be a little weird considering I normally tell you not to worry about what other people think of you, but just go with me here. Ask yourself and others. Huh? Ask other people and yourself about your passions and what you are good at. Take those answers and trust that the reason things are brought into your life is because they matter to your future.
Believe me I get it. It can be hard when you have no idea what direction you want your life to take, or when you have no idea what your life’s passion is. This can be especially hard when people are constantly asking about your life and future. But I encourage you to try out these few tips and tricks, and see if they help you out on your quest for personal purpose.
