I don’t know about you, but I love reading, and I always seem to have several books open at one time. I guess you could say I am indecisive when it comes to reading. I just love diving headfirst into a story, and I don’t see any reason not to do so with more than one story. Maybe I am weird, but I am definitely that person who loves libraries, bookstores, and the smell of old books. In the spirit of all book lovers I wanted to share with all of you some of the books I am reading at the moment, and maybe they will entice you to pick up a new book or even an old one to reread.
At the moment I am reading a couple different books across genres. I am a big fan of both fiction and nonfiction books so I tend to be reading a very strange collection of books. As of right now I am reading Harry Potter and The Chamber Of Secrets, which I mean come on it’s Harry Potter. It doesn’t matter if you have already read and are rereading it or if it is your first time reading it, the Harry Potter books are incredible. Hands down, I don’t care how old I get they will always be some of my favorites.
I am also reading a book on Hebrew history entitled The Heart of Hebrew History: A Study of the Old Testament that examines the history surrounding the Old Testament. You may or may not know that one of my degrees is in religion so I am always reading different religious texts and historical books. I happened to pick this one up when I was visiting friends on the West Coast, and so far I am loving it. But I should say it probably won’t be everybody’s cup of tea, but for any religious or anthropology nerds out there I highly recommend it.
Some of the other books I have been reading are poetry books. There seems to be a resurgence of poetry in mainstream culture, which I am loving. I am a big poetry fan so I am glad that so many poets are having their work actually be seen my the masses. At the moment I am reading Milk and Honey by Rupi Kaur and Yesterday I Was The Moon by Noor Unnahar ,and I am ABSOLUTELY LOVING THEM! I don’t know if you feel like this, but there is something so cathartic about reading poetry, and knowing that there is someone else out there that feels the same way you do; that there was someone who could find words for what you were feeling.
I would love to hear from all of you about what books you are reading at the moment, or even some of your favorite books. I am always looking for great book recommendations.
