Hello my darlings. Today I wanted to sit down, and take some time to let y’all behind the scenes of The Sunday Series a little bit. I wanted to share with y’all the reason behind why I started this blog, and the meaning behind the name “The Sunday Series”.
When I first starting thinking about writing a blog I have to admit I was inspired by the women out there who had turned their blogs into passionate and driven careers. I can only hope that one day my little blog will become something that unique, but until that day I will continue to share with all of you the best content I can. But in all seriousness one of the main reasons I started this blog was to document not only the things I love, but to share my journey of trying to design my own life. I firmly believe that we are supposed to live our lives in the best way we can for ourselves, not according to what society deems is the appropriate course one’s life is supposed to take. And I am saying that as someone who had literally planned out their entire life from the age of four years old. Suffice it to say some things did not go as planned so here I am rewriting the what and the who of who I am. I don’t know where that will lead me, or if I really want to know anymore, maybe it’s better to be surprised (the control freak in me is screaming right now), but nevertheless I am working my way into what I want that life to look like, and I hope you will join me as I go through this journey.
As far as the name of the blog is considered I have to be honest I really had a hard time coming up with a name for the blog. It seemed like everything that I liked either didn’t resonate with the people whose opinions I asked, or I just didn’t end up liking the name like I had anticipated. I ultimately ended up with a piece of paper with a few names on it, and just kept thinking on it until it all came to me.
What do you think of when you think of Sunday? I think about relaxing, spending time with the people I care about, and taking time to do the things that make my soul feel the most full. That feeling is where the name of the blog came from. A life filled with a series of Sundays; a life designed the way you want it to be with the things that feed your spirit. The idea of living a life for yourself, full of joy and worthwhile. Surrounding yourself with he things that bring you comfort, passion, and joy. Who says that we all have to live the same kind of life, or the kind of life that has been dictated to us? The only person who should decide how you live your life is you because after all who are you living for if not for yourself. So that is where I am, trying my best to live my own series of Sundays and a life that excites me and drives me to seek out my passions and joy.
