I should probably go ahead and tell you right now that I am a planner, stationery, and school supply addict, and I have absolutely no shame about it. I have loved them for as long as I can remember, and I don’t see that changing anytime soon. One of my favorite types of Youtube videos to watch are “Plan With Me” videos where people take you on a tour of their planner, and show you how they plan their weeks, months, or whatever it may be. So I got to thinking that maybe some of y’all might be interested in seeing how I plan out my weeks, especially in terms of my blogging and coaching schedule. Now I should say that because I am a bit of an obsessive planner I have multiple planners at one time. I use my Google Calendar, a physical planner, post it notes, and numerous notebooks for daily to do list, but it all works for me and that’s how I like it. Having said that I truly cannot recommend enough that you find a system that works for you, to help you stay organized and productive.
The main physical planner I am using at the moment is the Lilly Pulitzer To Do Planner in Toile, which I am in love with because it doesn’t have any dates so I can use one page for one day, one week, or even one month. Basically it is super customizable and blank (in a good way), so it allows you to somewhat design each page how you want. Each page layout has 5 sections. One “to get” section, a “top priorities” section, an “appointments” schedule, a “calls and emails” section, and a “to do” section, which I find super user friendly for exactly my needs, so that is how I tend to structure my pages. At the moment I have been using each two page layout as one week because at the moment that works better for me in conjunction with my Google Calendar and daily to do list. I find that if I use each differently it works the best for my needs. So the physical planner is my weekly layout, the Google Calendar has a weekly overview and my daily schedule of when I want to get things accomplished, and then I also have a simple written to do list of some of the top things to get done on a given day. I know three planners may not be for everybody, but this is what I have found works for me, and hold me accountable to a schedule and the things I need to get done. Depending on my mood for the week will dictate how I actually plan out everything. I am a very visual person so I like a lot of color and textures in my planning. For instance some weeks I may write everything out in color coded sections, or I may give everything a different sticker or tab and really decorate the pages, it all just depends on how I am feeling that week. Because of this no week really looks the same in any of my planners or calendars, even my Google Calendar colors change all the time, but again that is only what works for me. You have to find what works best for you, and your needs and schedule. Now without further ado here is a behind the scenes glimpse into my schedule.
I would love to know how you plan out your schedule, and feel free to post pictures of your planners or calendars on social media and tag me so I can them. I am always looking for new inspiration, and ways to plan everything out.
