With the weather changing and the temperature getting colder I often find that my makeup routine changes as well. But as far as I am concerned that isn’t a bad thing if it can be used as an excuse to by new makeup. So in honor of the changing seasons I wanted to share with y’all my most used makeup products of the moment; those things I have been reaching for on repeat. Some of these loves are new, and some of them are rediscoveries that I am beginning to wonder why I ever stopped using in the first place.
Maybelline Fit Me Powder
When I recently ran out of a powder I love I went to the store really quickly just to pick something up to tide me over until I could repurchase the powder I knew and loved, but y’all this powder changed everything. Don’t get me wrong I still love that other powder, but this one is so perfect. It is so finely milled, leaves my skin looking smooth and matte and without creases, so that is a win in my book.
Rimmel Lasting Finish 25 HR Breathable Foundation
I will be the first to admit that it is hard for me to find foundation or really any face product a lot of the time because I am so pale, so I was surprised when I discovered that this foundation could actually work on my skin. Like y’all I may have shrieked a little with excitement. This foundation has great coverage, lasts all day, doesn’t crease of cake up, and again is actually light enough for me (at least on most days).
Tarte Smooth Operator Concealer
This is an oldie but a goodie for me, and I honestly don’t know why I ever stopped using it to begin with. Not only does it barely crease, it lasts forever, and I can wear it alone with just a little powder and my skin will still look good for the whole day. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a concealer that provides great but breathable coverage, and you the product itself lasts forever because you only need a little bit at a time.
Mascara Combo (Clinique Lash Power Mascara and Bobbi Brown Smokey Eye Mascara)
Y’all I don’t know about you, but I am a mascara junkie, and I have been known to layer my favorite mascaras to get the ultimate lash extravaganza. I mean let’s be honest with each other for a minute I have crap lashes, so I need all the help that I can get, an layer multiple mascaras helps me get that. This combo is a newer discovery for me, and I honestly love it. It holds a curl better than most mascaras on me, lasts all day (yes I have tested in crying too), and is super dark and give my lashes a ton of volume.
If you know me the one thing I never leave the house without is my eyebrows ready, so suffice it to say that I have tried more eyebrow products that most, and have been disappointed by my fair share too. But not this one. I will be the first to admit that at first I wasn’t sold, but as time as has gone on, and I have been rediscovery products hidden in my drawers I have fallen in love with this product. It is the perfect color for my strawberry blondish brown hair, stays on like no body’s business, and looks natural.
Tarte Blush in Celebrated
Blush is hard for me, I’ll admit that. Because I am so pale and have rosacea it can be hard to find blush that really suits my face coloring without making me look redder or just unnatural, but this color is just perfect. It is hands down one of my favorite blush colors of all time. It is the perfect combination of subtle and statement, and looks like a natural flush. I highly recommend this blush to anyone, but especially those who may be on the paler side and really struggle to find blushes that aren’t too dark.
Not unlike blushes I often find a hard time finding the perfect highlighter because so many of them are just too dark for me, but this one is perfect, and suits my pink undertones perfectly. It is super buildable though as well so you can achieve a natural lit from within look, or go full shine for the gods highlight queen status.
Urban Decay Naked Palette
Another oldie but a goodie I have fallen in love with again is my original Naked Palette. I mean this palette is perfect period. Aside from the array of colors, textures, and finishes all of the colors are literally suitable for any skin tone, and can create almost any neutral look you could imagine. I don’t think there is much more to say other than it is one of the best palettes out there.
I would love to know what you most reached for products of the moment are, or if you have ever tried any of the products I mentioned. Feel free to comment below as I am always looking for recommendations, and interested to see how the same products work on other people.
