Since June is the first full month that the blog has been live I wanted to go ahead and do a special edition of my favorites, and share with you some of the things I have been loving this month. But I have to say this month’s favorites are a bit of all over the place from beauty to grocery and everything in between.
This month I have had an obsession with cashew butter and pesto, and I do mean obsession. I seem to want to put cashew butter on anything and everything. I haven’t been able to eat peanut butter for over a decade, so I had just accepted the fact that I would never have anything like it again, but I recently discovered cashew butter, which is incredible. It is by far the closest alternative to peanut butter, but I think I may even like the taste better. I don’t know what it is but it is just delicious. The other food item I have been loving is pesto. I never used to be a pesto fan, but over the past few years I have grown to love it. I blame it on my affinity for pasta and all things Italian. I think I have legitimately eaten pasta with pesto at least 2-3 times a week this month, which is crazy because I never eat something that much. My last food love of the month isn’t a food so much, as it is a grocery story, and that is Aldi. I don’t know if any of you have an Aldi near you, but if you do you may understand my fascination. I just love how affordable everything is. Groceries can be so expensive, but I mean life is right, but really they are so budget friendly and so much of their food is either organic or just overall healthier, which I really like.
I don’t have many beauty related favorites this month, since I haven’t been wearing much makeup at all, but I do have to give to shoutouts. The first is to my Amika dry shampoo which is incredible, and smells absolutely divine. The second favorite ties into the dry shampoo, and that has been not washing my hair as often. Now I don’t mean not showering, but I have been going longer in between washing my hair trying to retrain it so to speak because my scalp gets very dry, and the Amika has been a lifesaver in between washes. I have very fine hair so I become a greaseball in like 2.5 seconds, so having a dry shampoo that can give me volume, keep me from looking greasy, and make my hair look nice is a win for me.
My last favorites of the month are all general life favorites. The first is my planner. I have been using the To Do Planner by Lilly Pulitzer, and I am literally and figuratively in love with it. Sometimes I find planners too restrictive in the way they are laid out and organized, but this planner is laid out more by category, and isn’t dated so you could have one page represent a day, a week, or even a month if you wanted to, which is especially great if you may not need an entire lay out for one day. I know sometimes I have days that aren’t as busy so I may not use up the whole page, and then I feel wasteful. With this planner that isn’t a problem.
My last two favorites really deserve their own category, but nevertheless they are my blog and my online Facebook communities. Since starting the blog I have found myself writing more and more, which is something I had been neglecting, and I am very happy about that. You may not know this about me, but I have been writing since I was a kid, so getting back into that has been fun. I find myself sometimes wanting to post a new article or blog post everyday, and I have to remind myself that blogging is much more about quality than quantity of posts. I would also like to say a huge I love you and thank you to all of the lovely and wonderful people who have commented, read, sign up for, etc. on the blog. You have no idea how much it means to me. You are all incredible, and I am super thankful for you. That leads me to the second blogging related favorite, and those are Facebook community groups. Since starting my blog I have joined numerous Facebook groups of other blogger, entrepreneurs, and online content creators, and they have all been so welcoming and helpful. Whenever I have questions, want feedback, or reassurance they are there, so I wanted to give a special thank you to those groups and the amazing people in them.
It may not be the most exciting favorites ever, but I am very thankful and happy to have found each of these things this month. What are some of your favorites from this month, I would love to hear about them. Feel free to comment below, or message me on social media and tell me all about them.
