I always joke that despite being out of college I will never not have a college budget mindset. I swear by never paying full price, and I love a good deal. Recently I started experimented with some discount and savings apps to see if they were actually worth it, since I have heard so much about them.
Ibotta is a great app for grocery store deals. You log in and select certain deals on products you already would normally but, and then after your grocery trip you upload a picture of your receipt to the app, and they send you money back. It is literally that easy. Claim the deals, shop, send a picture, get money back. I highly recommend it. I have even got my mom and her friends using it.
Ebates is another great way to save money when you buy products online. You create an ebates account, and every time you want to buy something online you go through the ebates site and you get a certain percentage of cash back on your purchase. It doesn’t cost you any extra or anything, all you are doing is essentially buying from the same online store via the ebates site. It is especially great if you regularly shop online.
Honey is one of my favorite online shopping money saving tools. I started using it last Christmas, and guys I don’t even know what I was doing before. Honey is this great app you download onto your computer, and every time you buy something online it searches the internet for discounts, coupons, and other deals to apply to your total, and if there isn’t a deal a lot of the time you can get a percentage back on your purchase. One of the reasons I love Honey so much is because you literally don’t have to do anything everything is done automatically, so I don’t have to worry about forgetting. I know it saved me a ton of money when I was doing my online shopping for Christmas, and considering I am normally an in-store shopper I loved being able to save extra money online.
Groupon is another great website for savings and offers. It has everything from travel, to experiences, to products all of which you can purchase at a discount. It is a great thing especially for the savings on travel and experiences, like bowling, movies, or hotel deals.
If you use any of these apps/programs I would love to hear from you about how you use them, and why you like them. And if you use any other please feel free to comment, and let others know too.
