Something I haven’t talk about much on the blog thus far are habits, but if you know me in “real life” then you know that I am a huge proponent of having healthy habits, and as I have gotten older it’s become one of the things that I swear by. So today I wanted to take some time to share with you five of the habits that I have adopted that have changed my life for the better. I hope that you will consider adopting some of these for yourself, and watch as your life changes.
Mindful Morning Routine
One of the biggest habits that I have established that I have truly seen a difference with is establishing a mindful morning routine. But establishing a routine in the morning that is slower and more mindful I start the day off on the right foot, which helps to set me up for success and a better day overall. Your routine doesn’t have to be anything elaborate, it can be something as simple.
I love a good meditation session. I have been meditating for about 12 years today, and swear by the benefits of it. Simply taking a few minutes in your day to recenter yourself, clear your mind, and focus on being in the moment can have a huge impact on your day and on your life.
This I think is probably the habit that most people tend to forget about, and that is to drink your water. Drinking water is not only so important for your hydration, but for your overall health too. It helps keep your mind clear and focused, helps your digestive system work better, keeps your skin clearer, and helps your body to function better overall.
Planning Out My Day
Something you may not know about me is that I am a huge planner addict. I swear I have a planner for each day of the week it seems like, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. By planning out my day it helps to keep me organized, focused, and on task.
This on may be the most impactful of all of the habits that I have adopted and that is to surround myself with healthy relationships. I think as I have gotten older I have realized that some of my relationships weren’t exactly the healthiest, and in some cases were downright toxic and superficial. Because of this I have made a conscious effort to ensure that all of my relationships are healthy and balanced.
Habits are so important to our daily life, and in fact when implemented properly can really have a positive impact on our lives. So if you are looking to implement some positive habits into your life I encourage you to consider a mindful morning routine, meditation, drinking water, planning out your day, and surround yourself with healthy relationships. These simple yet powerful habits will have a profound impact on your life.
