Now I don’t know about you, but if I am being totally honest with myself I am a bit of a homebody. I would much prefer a night in, than a night out, so New Year’s Eve is kind of a weird holiday for me. I know I should be social, and go out on the town, but let’s be honest most years I want to just cuddle up under the covers and watch a good movie. So for any of who might be like me, and thinking of ways to stay in this New Year’s Eve I have come up with a few ideas of ways to spend your night at home, and still have fun.
Invite your friends or family over for an overly competitive sing off blasting 90s music, and ringing in the New Year.
- House party
Now if karaoke is up your alley maybe throwing a New Year’s Eve party of your own is more your style. You can put out a ton of junk food (I mean it is the holidays after all so why not), turn up the music, and keep everyone up and dancing until the ball drops. Maybe even throw in some props for an impromptu photo booth to document all those unforgettable moments of the night.
- Girl’s night in
Maybe a party isn’t quite your scene, but you would still like a few people to come over try inviting a few of your girlfriends over for a girl’s night in something like the girl’s night from Grease meets a 90s slumber party, and you are in for a good time. Pull out the cheesy romcoms, the face masks, and order some pizza, and you are good to go.
- Takeout and a movie
Maybe you and your significant other want to spend the night in this year, that’s totally cool, and can be just as much fun. Try renting a movie and ordering a hodge podge of takeout and hunkering down to cuddle the year away.
- Binge watch New Years themed movies and watch the New Year’s special
Maybe you are staying in alone on New Year’s (though you could totally do this with other people too), maybe you have to work the next day, or just aren’t feeling a whole to do, well that is perfectly ok. You can just as easily spend the night binge watching New Year’s themed movies and watching the New Year’s specials that are on TV, and wait for the ball to drop.
I hope that no matter what you New Year’s Eve looks like that you have a fantastic time ringing in the New Year, and feel free to let me know what your plans are for the night.
