We all have them, and they suck. What am I talking about you may be wondering, those dreaded long and hard days. I mean they are often unavoidable, but there are simple things we can do to practice self care and pamper ourselves after those hard days. These little things will add up, and lead to a bigger result of taking care of yourself, which is beyond critical. These are some of my favorite ways to pamper myself after a hard day that I have found help me to relax, destress, and take care of my mind and body
I don’t know about you, but there is something so relaxing to me as just taking a simple shower or bath, and washing away all of the stress and fatigue of the day.
do a face mask
Your skin is such an outward representation of what is going on inside of our bodies, so take a few minutes to do something to take care of our skin, like a face mask, can be so beneficial not only relaxing.
paint my nails
Taking a few moments to really pamper yourself with something that makes you feel pretty and good is a great way to end a hard day because you are forcing yourself to do something completely mindful for yourself.
read a book
One of my favorite things to do after a long hard day to pamper myself is to read. I find it so relaxing because it gives my brain a way to turn off, and think about something other than whatever was stressing me out earlier in the day.
drink a soothing cup of tea or coffee
This may be my other favorite way to unwind and pamper myself. There is something so soothing to me about making and sipping a warm cup of tea or coffee, and just focusing on enjoying that cup really helps to clear my mind.
go out into nature
Going out into nature, something as simple as taking an evening walk, can be so beneficial. Being in nature is scientifically calming, so spending a few minutes, even just sitting on your back porch, and breathing in the fresh air can really help after a long hard day.
exercise and move your body
Another great way to relax at the end of a hard day is to move your body or exercise. Exercising helps our brain to release endorphins which helps to boost our mood, and what better thing to do after a taxing day then raise your mood and energy level.
If you try and of these techniques after your hard days, and find them cathartic and calming I would love for you to let me know. And if you have any other ideas feel free to let me know those too because I am always looking for new ways to relax and take better care of myself.
