Let me start by saying that you should be insanely proud of yourself for completing your degree and graduating from college or university. Now having said that I understand that it can be very difficult and nerve wracking to graduate college without a job already set up or in place. It can make it very difficult to feel excited about this next phase of your life because you don’t have a firm plan in place. Furthermore anyone who has ever gone through the job application process knows that it can be extremely stressful and anxiety inducing.
I want you to know that there is absolutely nothing wrong with not having a job ready to go when you graduate. It is completely normal, and in no way a signal of your worth or how hard you have worked. Sometimes it just happens. Actually it is very common for new graduates to not have a job waiting for them when they finish school; many new grads finally land on their feet sometime in the fall after their graduation. I want to assure you that it will all work out. You will get a job, and you will get your chance to start this next chapter of your life. You are amazing, and more than capable of whatever it is that you want to do. I have no doubts that sooner rather than later you will find yourself excited to be starting your first post grad job in the real world. In the meantime try not to let your lack of a job get you down. Getting a job isn’t easy; it never is. You just need to keep plugging along, and working towards the future that you want for yourself.
Lots of Love (and belief in you),
