I know I am not the only one who struggles to get up in the morning or to make the most of my morning, so I have put together five of my top tips for how to maximize and supercharge your morning, and make it work for you.
Try and wake up at the same time each morning to set your body on a schedule; doing this will help your body become more regulated and eventually hopefully less tired and dreading of the morning. By getting up at the same time everyday you will start to teach your body a routine, and that routine will help you to become more productive, and hopefully enjoy your morning more than you were before.
Drink water. This may seem kind of obvious, but there are numerous health benefits to starting your day off with a glass of water including boosting your immune system and jump-starting your metabolism and digestion for the day. Simply drinking a glass of water in the morning can also help to wake you up, and get you kick started on the path to having an awesome day.
Take a few minutes each morning for yourself. I cannot stress this one enough. Start your day off right by doing something solely for yourself, whether that is meditation, journaling, yoga, or just watching television for a bit, just try and take a few moments for yourself. Starting each day with a reminder to take care of yourself will help put you in the right mindset for the rest of the day.
Get some Vitamin D Even if you only open your window and breath in the day get some Vitamin D (sunshine) and fresh air, you won’t believe how much more awake it will make you feel. It can also help signal to your brain and your body that it is time to be awake and to get things done, which can help with the morning slump that we all sometimes feel.
Lastly eat something that will make you feel good, this will keep you energized and motivated throughout the rest of the morning and into the day. You would be surprised what something as simple as eating a healthy and nutritious breakfast can actually do for you, but it can definitely put you on the right track to start the day off right.
